About Us
The Shrewsbury Carnival & Show Committee is a small group of people who give up their spare time to plan and organise the event. The planning process begins in September and continues right up until the day itself.

The money that is made on the day goes to local charities and is gratefully received by the beneficiaries. Last year, the carnival raised £7,000. This was done by collection buckets, sponsorships, advertising and more besides. The Trade and Charity stalls raised a further £3,000, that's a combined total of £10,000!

Thank you to everybody who has donated money to benefit the local charities we collect for!

A Message from the Chairman
As we approach yet another Carnival, I find it hard to believe that a year has gone by.

Preparations for this year's event began immediately after last year's Carnival was over and suddenly it's upon us again!

My thanks, as always, must go to the small, but dedicated Committee, who have worked hard throughout the year to put on what will be a memorable day. We have struggled to attract more members to help on the Committee, but hopefully will have sufficient to enable the Carnival to continue next year. Unfortunately, owing to recent health problems, I am not able to continue at the same level as before, but will, of course, continue to support the rest of the team in the future.

Thanks must also go to the "Friends of the Carnival" without whose help we would struggle even more, especially with collecting and magazine distribution.

An extra special Thank You to Nick Pitt and his team at the Darwin and Pride Hill Shopping Centres, who are our major sponsor this year. Nick has gone out of his way to help us with the Carnival, especially sponsoring the Carnival Princess and Junior Crier Competitions.

I feel that, in thanking you all for taking part in Carnival, a huge vote of thanks must got to the various hauliers who allow their vehicles to be used in the Parade. In view of the current economic situation, this is a wonderful gesture of support from them, and we really do appreciate it.

Finally, I would just like to wish you all well and look forward to meeting as many of you as possible on the Saturday June 18th.

Best Wishes,

Graham Puttock
