Shrewsbury Carnival 2017 is a great success

The 2017 Shrewsbury Carnival & Show was another successful event this year, with the sun shining down on us it made a very warm but busy day.

Thousands of people came into the Quarry park to enjoy the entertainment, activities and line the town centre streets our main parade with over 30 entrants at 2pm.

We will soon be asking local charities and voluntary organisations to apply for a share of the money raised.

Our committee would like to say a massive thank you to all the people that help make Carnival happen and those who come out to support us.

Thank you to: The hauliers who allow their vehicles to be used in the parade, Chris Good, DR Ford, Pentons, Gro Continental, Loosemoores and the drivers for giving up their time. Shropshire Fire and Rescue, West Mercia Police and West Midland Ambulance Service, Air Cadets 1119 (Shrewsbury) Squadron, all the Stewards and Marshals, Martin Wood, The Mayor of Shrewsbury Cllr Jane McKenzie, Damian, Nic and Roger Breeze, Steven Oliver, Greenhous Ltd, StageTech, Mike Cox, Dave Mansfield, Ian Bebbington, Ashley Jordan, Ray Watts, Bobby at The Riverbank for the loan of the royalty thrones.

We would also like to thank all the advertisers and companies that have donated, Simon, Nick, Neil, Jim, our parade judges Kara and Martin and the many others we haven’t mentioned as there are so many of you.

Finally, thank you to our 2017 royalty Evie, Ava, Tami, Teyana and Tom and their families for supporting them and us.
