Final preparations take place for Shrewsbury Carnival & Show

Final preparations are being made for Shrewsbury Carnival & Show which takes place this Saturday 15 June 2019.

We are pleased to say the event is going ahead despite recent heavy rainfall and high river levels which has made the local news.

Over the past few days our team has had a number of site meetings and conversations with Shrewsbury Town Council, Shropshire Council, the Environment Agency, Safety Advisory Group and Emergency Services. With their guidance we have agreed to go ahead. A number of steps have been taken to ensure everyone’s safety.

The river is due to peak on Friday afternoon and then begin to fall.

The weather for tomorrow is for showers or dry but cloudy, this depends on which weather website you check.

Frankwell car park will remain closed on Saturday and we advise those attending to use Oxon, Meole Brace or Harlescott Park and Ride services. Please also allow plenty of time to get into Shrewsbury as roads are expected to be busy.

Please check our Facebook page or twitter for the latest updates as we get ready for the big day!
